GARBAGE TRUCK LOADER

Carefree Disposal is the area’s leading local trash company, and our garbage truck helpers are not just a part of our family but a part of our communities as well. We are looking for motivated and hardworking garbage truck helpers that take pride in giving back to our communities with the safe and responsible removal of our communities’ trash by safely and efficiently assisting the driver with picking up trash and operating rear-load garbage trucks on our municipal streets, alleyways, highways, customer sites, and construction sites.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced position in all weather.

  • Ability to lift 70 plus pounds throughout a typical shift.

  • Able to operate lever hand controls for hydraulic machinery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Picking up community trash and dumping in the rear of the truck.

  • Operate lever hand controls for hydraulic machinery when needed.

  • Assist the driver with backing of the truck.

  • This is a position requiring heavy lifting, fast paced walking, and climbing in and out of the truck.

  • This is a full time, year-round position. A typical work schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday.

SALARY:

  • Pay is commensurate with experience. $15-17/hr to start.

CDL LICENSED CLASS B GARBAGE TRUCK DRIVER

A Carefree Disposal Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a rear-loading truck, and provide courteous waste removal services for customers who reside on a designated route. The driver is also in charge of his helper and making sure all safety rules are adhered to in the course of business. In addition, a Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards and state and federal regulations. Driver must complete vehicle inspections daily. The driver must have good customer service skills, time management skills, and the ability to work well with a team.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one years prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.

  • Class B CDL License

  • At least 21 years of age.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform complete pre and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.

  • Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.

  • Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.

  • Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.

  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.

  • Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.

  • Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.

  • Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SALARY:

  • Pay is commensurate with experience. $20-36/hr
